A World to See

The capitol city of Thailand, Bangkok, has one of the longest ceremonial names in the world. Made up of Pali and Sanskrit root words, The real name of the capitol city is Krungthepmahanakhon Amonrattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharatratchathaniburirom Udomratchaniwetmahasathan Amonphimanawatansathit Sakkathattiyawitsanukamprasit. The name means City of Angels, Great City of Immortals, Magnificent City of the Nine Gems, Seat of the King, City of Royal Palaces, Home of Gods Incarnate, Erected by Visvakarman at Indras Behest! In Thai, people usually call Bangkok Krung Thep, which is the shortened version of the full name.

Laos is filled with forests, rugged mountains, rivers and some plains. Around 80% of the population lives off subsistence agriculture. They grow enough food to support themselves but that is it, they do not make a profit from it. There is not a lot of farmable land either, with rice being the main crop.

Flags all over the world seem to be the same designs in different colors or the same colors in different designs. However, Cambodia broke the mold with their flag and put Angkor Wat on the national flag. It is the only flag in the world with a building on it!
